Head of Product Management

5X5 Gaming is an early-stage game developer with the vision of building culturized competitive games and we are looking for an experienced Head of Product Management to own product management vision and execution.

A successful candidate will be comfortable with guiding vision for Product Management discipline, feature and requirements spec writing, A&B and multivariate testing, leading data analysis, forecasting, competitive analysis, and collaborating with a cross-functional team to define and achieve aggressive targets.

You will exhibit mastery over mobile growth and life cycle management best practices, translate genre trends to actionable insights, and be fluent in free to play game design. You will provide leadership to game teams throughout the game development lifecycle from concept to prototype to production and live services.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor, develop and grow the product management talent within the studio insisting on highest standards, earning trust, and leading by example.
  • Collaborate effectively with design, engineering, art, and production discipline leadership to drive success of the studio's products.
  • Work with the game teams to develop and validate product strategy through use of behavioral data, competitive and customer research, and deep customer empathy.
  • Build strong partnerships with games teams that ensure visibility/transparency and delivery on commitments within agreed upon timetables. Identify opportunities to improve practices/processes bringing new products to market & ensuring success.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape to understand market opportunities and trends in the business.
  • Present formally and informally to company leadership on a regular basis.


Required Skills:

  • 5-8 years of directly relevant experience with at least 3 years in a product leadership role at a top mobile games company and a demonstrated track-record of success.
  • Prior experience in a Director of Product role at a top mobile games company.
  • Deep understanding of game development practices.
  • Experience working at each stage of a game development lifecycle, from concept and pitch to GTM and live ops.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced AGILE development.
  • Highly expert in the product management discipline with proven expertise developing user stories, writing BRD's & feature specifications, wire-framing, and partnering effectively with UI/UX and engineering teams to make appropriate trade-offs while ensuring excellence in execution.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading teams with ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • High analytical acumen with extensive understanding of business value drivers in the mobile F2P category.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex analysis and distill complex concepts into the essence of the business impact and player motivation, and clearly articulate them as goals for the game teams.
  • Extensive familiarity with live services strategy/execution with proven ability to develop winning growth plans.
  • Experience in revenue forecasting and cost modelling, deriving KPI targets for game teams and well developing advertising budgets.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
  • An avid consumer of live service games – is inspired by playing them and is always thinking about how they can improve.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with experience preparing and presenting information to various stakeholders. Ability to effectively communicate both creative and technical feedback to a diverse group of stakeholders
